The new style Facebook Pages is rolled out!
One of the most significant changes to the upgraded Facebook pages is that you as an Administrator may now switch between posting comments as yourself or as a page administrator. In today’s world of social media this will add a face to your brand and make it more personal. Also, the posts you make as Admin for the business page no longer will show on your personal profile and they will not show up in your personal news feed either.
The other huge plus is that you can comment and like others pages from your business page not your personal page, in other words your page can now “like” other pages. What a great way to promote your business on other pages!
Third great feature is Email Notifications feature. There is now a setting (after you upgrade, go to Edit Page > Your Settings) that will send you email notifications when people post or comment on your Page. What a great way to instantly reach to those customers and create even stronger relationship.
Photos are moving to front and center. This area will not include any photos posted by people who like your Page. Instead, you need to create an album that is niche related and use that as another advertisement space.
Once you upgrade your page to the new design, you can’t revert back to the old one. Also, if you don’t do it yourself, it will be automatically done for you on March 1st, 2011. Watch out for profile picture size, it used to be 200×600, new size is 180×540, your picture will be cut off on the right if you don’t adjust it.
